For seniors and vulnerable in our community we offer home visits and regular social outings to places of interest such as art galleries. Our support also includes the Shoppers Van which operates fortnightly on a Wednesday taking a group into town to collect their groceries. If you, or someone you know, could benefit from our services please contact us
School Based Youth Work
Through our partnership with 24-7 Youth Work we offer in school youth work including, breakfast clubs, one on one mentoring, lunch time support and leadership development for Diamond Harbour School. In school youth work encourages positive school culture and contributes to young people remaining engaged in their education. If you’d like to know more please contact us.
We support our local community by helping to run several community events every year. We are privileged to partner with other local community groups to offer these. It is always wonderful to see the intergenerational connections that happen when our community gathers to celebrate together. Keep an eye on the Community Facebook Page for any of our upcoming events.

What we do
Diamond Harbour Youth and Community Trust is a small local trust focused on supporting the well-being of the local youth and community.
Our community support encompasses our Shoppers Van, home visits, walks, outings and social events for seniors and the vulnerable in our community. We know that if people are connected to each other and the services they need they’re more likely to thrive. We love being part of the reason people can stay active and present in our local community by giving them access to friendship and practical support.
Annually we offer more than 600 hours of support to seniors and the vulnerable in our community and engage with more than 100 individuals throughout the year.
DHYCT youth work supports young people by encouraging an adventurous spirit and creating space for youth to grow and build strong connections with each other and with caring adults.
Each week our 24-7 Youth Worker spends time with tamariki at Diamond Harbour School, running breakfast clubs, mentoring sessions and lunch time hang outs. Our community youth work programme offers rangatahi access to adventures like: surfing, swimming, rock climbing, wilderness skills, team building and games. In the holidays we run regular activities; like trampolining, hot pool visits, laser tag, camps, crafting sessions and tramps.
Annually we offer more than 1400 hours of youth work and engage with about 120 local rangatahi through our activities.
Our wider community events are a way of partnering with the other talented and passionate locals who love to see our neighbourhood thriving. Annually we offer multiple community wide events which are an invitation for people to come and connect with one another and our beautiful local area.
